Bīrūnī and India: The first attempt to understand

In this paper author focuses his attention on one of biggest Indologist of
all times - Abū Raihan Al-Bīrūnī (973-1048). This itinerant scholar has
acquainted himself with the roots of Hindu culture and philosophy at a time
when next to nothing was known outside India about the range and richness of
its heritage.
